This significant site spans approximately 38.1 acres in Hamilton County and serves as a vital part of our ancestral burial landscape. It connects us to a historic community that once thrived here, stretching toward Summit, Tennessee. The names Turkey Foot Hollow and Shot Hollow represent more than just locations; they remind us of the rich history that predates modern development. While roads and landscapes have transformed, the legacy of our ancestors remains.
Johnson Cemetary
5699 Old Champion Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37416
Johnson Cemetery is located on Old Champion Road just off Champion Road behind a power sub-station. The access road is gated. You can reach the cemetery on foot. Only a small portion of the cemetery is maintained. The majority has been allowed to return to forest.
